Personalised Protein – Bespoke Vitamin and Protein Packaging

An exciting start-up The Personalised Protein Company offers a range of protein supplements and daily vitamins tailors to each customer.  Sarcina packaging was tasked with designing and producing a range of primary and transit packaging to provide a memorable unboxing experience whilst protecting products on their journey to the end customer.

The challenge

With each customer receiving individual vitamin sachets, the challenge was to design a carton board dispenser that allows the customer to remove each day’s vitamins whilst keeping the remaining items contained and safe. Furthermore, this dispensing tower carton also needed an impactful self-locking outer to protect the carton through the postal system. It was critical that cartons worked together to protect the product and provide the customer with knowledge that they were buying a quality, well presented product set.

Regarding the second product, daily protein supplements, Sarcina was asked to design a flood printed 0427 carton that would contain an insert that allowed for between 5 and 20 doy pouches containing the protein powder.  This transit box needed to look great, be strong and be versatile enough to contain varying volumes of products including daily pouches and a larger 250g pack.

The solution

The vitamin tower was designed with a snap lock base for ease of construction and a tuck over lid of ease of loading and locking. A die cut aperture at the base of the carton was designed to allow the end user to remove one sachet each day. This tower then formed the basis to design a self-locking carton with 100% outside flexo print.

For the larger protein supplements an 0427 self-locking container was designed and produced with 100% outside print. As part of a multi item set a flat pack self-locking insert was designed to slot into the constructed carton. This featured recesses to allow each protein pouch to be dropped into the carton – always held in the correct position and orientation.  A larger pouch was accommodated at top of the insert meaning an impactful unboxing experience.

The result

Sarcina Packaging provided the customer with a number of highly impactful packaging items as part of a multi item set. The end result was packaging that looked great, protected the product in transit and acted as a storage vessel for the items in the home.
