Black and Blum are a high-end design company based in central London with a focus on sustainability and clean, modern design. For the launch of a new product there was a requirement for some high-impact and thoughtful packaging that left an impression on their predominantly online customer base.
The challenge
Black and Blum’s previous transit packaging consisted of unbranded 0427 boxes that, whilst effective at protecting the goods, didn’t create the brand awareness and impact that Black and Blum desired.
The solution
Sarcina Packaging needed to help identify the optimum box sizes and material grades to suit Black and Blum’s range of products. This also involved designing inserts to help support the various products whilst in transit, and on the shelf.
A 225gsm Kraftpak laminated to E flute, with a four-colour lithographic print was utilised for the various boxes. The four colour process was then sealed with a machine applied varnish.
Branding is extremely important to Black and Blum so Sarcina Packaging provided four colour pre-production proofs for approval, prior to printing the full production run.
The result
By utilising a high-end four colour lithographic print on a sustainable and FSC certified board, Sarcina Packaging was able to provide Black and Blum with impactful, photorealistic graphics on materials aligned with their environmental ethos.
